Searching Instagram For Inspiration
Social media is a huge part of inspirational imagery or #inspo. Since we started our social media platforms, we cannot help but be inspired by all the nuances out there. But there are some rare gems on Instagram in particular, that we would like to share and give a shoutout to.
#1 – The Historialist – Vintage Footwear Files
I have been following this site since 2012 and I can tell you that they pull out all the stops in vintage footwear and research.
If you can imagine it – The Historialist will show its been done before! But that is not a negative, it is a major plus to know that great minds do think alike and that fashion is not only timeless – it is also infectious.
The archival website of the same name offers hours on hours of research from designer dossiers to packaging and marketing campaigns that date as far back to pre-flapper days.

#2 – CNKdaily – Women’s Sneaker Culture
The Women’s Sneaker Culture movement has been alive and kickin’ since women who worked in Manhattan had to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to get to work during the 80’s. That need for functional footwear for the long trek while the NYC Transit System was at a standstill, sparked the interest for more feminine touches in athletic wear. At least that is the story as I tell it, growing up watching my Aunts get ready for the hike to Wall St.
Fast-forward to CNKdaily today. An account with 60min unboxings, sneaker edu, beautiful editorials, and picture perfect #OOTD. Sporting the latest in new releases, vintage, classics and on-trend styling for women. What do women want in sneakers? Follow this account to find out. CNKdaily does not disappoint delivering all that is, “SneakHER Culture.”.

#3 – Shoes Of – Shoes From The Streets
This account takes “people watching” to another level. Folks will stop, pose, and document their shoe stories for the staff of Shoesof. Immortalizing their daily shoe choice and showing off the flavor of the city.
Pop on over to their website and see the full edits, the cities they travel to, and the stories behind the people who are wearing these amazing shoes. I cannot get enough of this account.

#4 – Laceless Designs – Designer’s CAD Presentations
If you are an admirer of @conceptkicks, then you will find Laceless Designs to be the precursor to understanding how sneaker constructs are done. If you want to know what a great technical drawing looks like, check out the routine feeds of CAD posts and informative technical packages by sneaker designers.
Think you have the right Illustrator, Photoshop or Rhine 3D graphics? Use #𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 to be featured. Looking for a solid graphic artist who can do CAD? You might want to give this account a review.

#5- Shoemeteor – Shoe Illustrations
They say sharing is caring. This account turns caring into a daily activity. The designer is not afraid to share their designs with the world. Using color pencils and other mediums to express design ideas. A wonderful and humble way to let the world know about shoe design aesthetics. There is even heel heights and callouts!
How creative is that? Follow this account to get your dose of shoe illustrations – please pass on and show the love!
“I love creating shoes and I would like to share with you some of my many creative shoe designs.”

BONUS #6
