Last week our editor Tanita Gray toted through the hail and rain to speak to a group of creatives @thesovco about the importance of shoe waste, fashion waste build up and the harsh truths we don't want to hear. Fast fashion, slow fashion, luxury, etc. Are all the contributors. The fashion industry waste problem is caused by us creative people and we need to think about how we will live in the future. It has to be part of our lifestyle. And means not everyone can be a "designer". We think of being a designer as outward esthetics only. We need to change that. "Designers are problem solvers. We shouldn't be adding to the problem. Be innovative in a new creative way." 👉🏾You can be the person who discovers a new manufacturing process, use of a new material or bring innovation in a way that we were never taught. Develop a new approach to design amd create solutions. We only have this planet to live on. Lets not fill it with trash we don't need.
