A young man’s wish is to design his own shoes
Some feel good news to share: PENSOLE, Adidas and Make-A-Wish America team up to make dreams of becoming a sneaker designer come true!
The Wish Kicks project was inspired by the Make-A-Wish 2018 recipient, Tunav Nanda (20). Nanda’s wish was to create and produce his own shoe together with PENSOLE. “While battling leukemia, my wish was to design my own pair of shoes,” Nanda said. “Now I’m able to help other kids in similar circumstances receive their own wish.”
The sneaker Nada designed will be available on auction at Extra Butter streetwear boutique, in New York on April 29, 2019. The success of the auction will benefit other child patients by providing life-changing experiences for kids interested in art, music, and design.
PENSOLE PARTNERS WITH MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION ON CAMPAIGN TO GRANT NINE WISHES THROUGH FOOTWEAR DESIGN
9 pairs of the kicks will be auctioned to raise a goal of $90,000, funding 9 new wishes. Supporters will have access to an immersive gallery experience depicting the three stages of Tunav’s story (Before, During and After), where they can tangibly take away the power of positivity.
“For quite a while I have wanted PENSOLE’s mission of mentorship to extend to a philanthropic effort involving youth. So partnering with Make-A-Wish to bring positive change to situations of physical hardship through footwear design was an ideal scenario.”
PENSOLE Creative Director of Marketing Herbert Beauclere said.
The Adidas partnership included producing a limited edition run of the sneaker, called the BDA – representing the “Before, During and After” of cancer.
Nice Kicks! Amazing design and creativity by Nada brought to life by The team at PENSOLE and Adidas.
For those who would like to bid on these exclusive sneakers in advance, starting right now and running until May 3, Wish Kicks is offering a unique crowdfunding platform through Charitybuzz to raise the money to grant wishes to nine kids suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
